I think companies make those things for Snapchat and Instagram, and they figure they should just put them at the top of YouTube anyhow as well. They already made them.

People getting bored of the pre-roll "This trailer is rated blah" and hitting next on YouTube before the trailer can really start. I bet someone has numbers somewhere that shows engagement has gone up on trailers that include a trailer trailer.

Because of online. Trailers build. You have 3 seconds to capture a viewer. Particularly with an ad. Remember, trailers get boosted and paid promotion, not just organic release. Promise it is specific metrics they see, not just randomness.
