"ANITA IS A SCAM ARTIST!" shout the men whose Patreons pull in $$$$because they provide the valuable service of telling the misogynistic masses of self-identified "gamers" who have never seriously engaged with the ideas in a feminist analysis of video games what they want to hear

News flash, we never ever did this work to get rich, we did it and continue to do it because we know it's fucking essential. You're lucky if you can even pay the rent for a little while doing work that doesn't compromise your moral convictions, provided you actually have any.

1/3 Cant speak for others but i know i find issue with some of ff's "research". counting women on stage at e3 can't be used to concude sexism in the industry as a whole. 6% of games featuring women cant be used to show low representation when you dont look at data showing

2/3 gender make up of genres, franchises, audience, etc. Singular data points in a vacuum cant be used to make wide sweeping conclusions. Females are could be overrepresented in some areas and underrepresention in others. I dont believe there is any confusion about this

3/3 Imo its just brand marketing. Fewer women at e3 means the 2nd worse year of data, not a good sign for the industry? Even though it was literally the most inclusive year ever for games. Nothing wrong with inclusion. Not a fan of misrepresentation though.

You and Feminist Frequency were just another moral guardian in a long line of them that tried to change our hobby to fit your beliefs. You all got treated just like them. We danced on Jack Thompson's grave, we're dancing on yours, and we'll dance on the next one's grave.
