I like, or want to like, that even as Eve allows herself to be seduced by the idea of Villanelle, the show reminds us, as it did at the end of the latest episode, that Villanelle is an irredeemable monster. But I wonder how well this works.
I'm not saying it's 1:1 but I do think that depictions of women in media enacting brutal violence often still function to some degree to normalize violence as a core component of our culture. It's not inherently feminist, just as a female president ordering drone strikes isn't.

Yeah, I totally see that, I was just wondering if it wasn't different because of the difference in narrative and, I suppose, meta-textual context.

Of course, these things are very complicated. I'm not saying it's simple, and exploring that complexity is important. I'm just wondering whether, on balance, it's "good" or not, in terms of moving the cultural needle.
