Even when art is supremely disappointing or infuriating--be it the end of ME 3 or the end of GoT--you don't get to bend it to your will! Accepting that art will sometimes let you down, make you angry, or leave you feeling betrayed is part of having a healthy relationship w/art.

I don't like it either. It can lead to very 'safe' commercial art. I think creators should always be mindful of their audience and fans, and know which lines they won't cross, provided their vision is more than 'make fans happy'; & fans should examine their relationship to media.

People melting down over SW / GOT / Sonic -- it's all the same to me. It's possible to be critical without turning vicious / insulting / hateful. Unfortunately the Internet is not really for expressing nuanced or balanced views. It's thumbs up or thumbs down, fresh or rotten.
