Interesting thread. Out of all the articles I’ve read about this episode, I didn’t see one saying the idea itself is bad since we all knew where her arc was going. So, perhaps some fans who felt really attached to her rejected the idea firsthand.

Also I think the writer of the thread gives too much credit to Zack Snyder. Regardless, interesting thread. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I do too.

The last thing is probably Sansa, but we also had all of Dorne, and they crapped themselves on that because the specifics of Dorne aren't important to the resolution, so they just cut it all out. They should've had Dany start saying the same things Cersei said. "Power is power".

Making parallels to The Last Jedi is interesting, because that one is probably my favorite Star War now precisely because of everything it threw into the fire. They definitely wrote this season with fists of ham, but I can't be TOO mad at them because of Arya vs. Night King.

I’ve been saying since the episode aired that the skeleton for a incredibly compelling final season is right there, but the execution is so bad that nothing feels earned (except Arya v. Night King).

hnnn that gets a newp from me dawg. the vast, vast majority of the criticisms are "yeah, it's not a bad idea, but it was done poorly". She went from war hero to war criminal in the span of two episodes because the showrunners prioritize shock value over character development

I know I'm like a broken record and I'm gonna monetize this anyway so who cares, but I keep seeing this - the people refuting "it's a betrayal of the character" are ignoring the majority of mainstream critics who are not saying that at all
