Oh, huh, Ninja Gaiden, the arcade game, is now available on Switch via Hamster's Arcade Archives series. That game is an interesting curiosity, but it's not actually good. Where the NES games are swift, responsive and exhilarating, the arcade game is a slow, cumbersome beat-em-up

I absolutely loved Ninja Gaiden arcade, then the NES game, and much later the Xbox game, all for really different reasons. There was something so evocative about the arcade game, and the neck throw I think is one of the coolest moves ever.

I do still really love the image, from the arcade game, of a ninja on American shores in what is specifically New York City, with landmarks like the Brooklyn Bridge and World Trade Center in the background (as opposed to the generic US city environments of the NES games).
