I think there's less misunderstanding and more just two very different debates using the same words and getting really tangled up together. One is actually about accessibility and one is about gamer capital/authenticity/difficulty. It's very frustrating regardless

So far, I'm seeing the same debate but with diff perspectives. It seems to center around the question "How much of a game's space should be equitable?" It's tricky cuz the question is tied up in an aesthetic itself. It's the game version of a building with pure horizontal lines.
