I'm not Tevis, I can't speak for him and I shouldn't try. But I don't see him saying "Why don't you agree with me about X game?" Rather, I see him saying, "Why do you all always agree with each other?" And I think it's a very important question.

so who should be the sacrifice? or which, plural? how much sacrifice is worth it? for how long? there's a real tradeoff here, and the tradeoff is all for the want of making review scores "good" again. i say fuck a review score. not worth the trade.

basically, everybody in the industry would have to buckle down and sacrifice their health, their safety, most likely their income, for god knows how long, to rehabilitate... review scores. not a great trade.

Absolutely, which is why I led earlier with "I know you all know this." I've seen the blowback to you, to Rowan, etc. Every reviewer gets it at least once, and yours was one of the most visible by far.

But as I said, I think the problem is reinforced now by not just other writers but streamers, and I just don't know a way to counteract a group that large and ingrained. Especially when a significant cohort of the latter group is paid specifically to NOT disparage the game.
