Sure, if it's a fun place for you and your friends to hang out then maybe it doesn't need to be a great game. All I'm saying is that I'm personally of the opinion that it is a great game.

But it's on that level--Fortnite as social space--that critiques of its monetization model become the strongest, because there's the pressure to buy wildly expensive skins and emotes to express yourself socially.
