The expanded side post, ‘Questions for Cowboys’, a series of questions he’d like to ask everyone who praised Red Dead Redemption 2 + his response to them, hits the nail on the head harder than any other take on the game: http://tevisthompson.com/questions-for-cowboys/ …https://twitter.com/carolynmichelle/status/1111706146622988288 …
To say that we are "forcing people to dislike games like these" is like saying those raving about the game are "forcing people to like the games." Nobody's forcing anyone to feel anything about a game. The problem is the strange consensus, the lack of dissenting views.

Yeah and it’s particularly weird with RDR 2. The broader reaction to the game was, while many loved it, many were to various degrees frustrated and put off by *core game mechanics*, by the mission design, etc. This was weirdly underrepresented in mainstream reviews. Why?
-
And there’s many reasons for this, probably the main one of course being that giving any too-big-to-fail game even a *good* score like 7/10 is viewed as provocation or “click bait” by gamers and leads to flaming, DDOS attacks & even death threats.
