Saw a movie today where a character says "Everybody's lonely!" which is a thing people say sometimes and it's like yeeeeeah no, I mean, everyone experiences loneliness to some degree at some point, but not everyone has loneliness deep in their bones.
In the context of the film it totally made sense that the character would say this. Whether or not the film thinks the sentiment is true is a matter of speculation.

In any case, I'm not criticizing the film for the line of dialogue at all. I'm just reacting to the sentiment as a real one that people often have.

I get you. A projection on the world that allows one to wave off their suffering as universal and therefor without meaningful solution.
