I feel like a lot of these people have like a 16 y.o.’s defention of what “grown up” or “adult” means. I love this new era of Star Wars, I don’t want any of this edgelord nonesense.

Yes, so true. Whenever an adult sees the original film/s for the first time, the number one complaint is something like 'it was so simple, I don't see what all the fuss is'. We love them *because* they're simple. Folktales ARE simple, that's how we relate and pass them on.

The original trilogy had a lot of cringeworthy or silly moments that are easily forgotten because it was a fantastic space opera. Now anything that's just slightly cringey or silly in the new movies gets treated like the plague. I'm afraid those kids grew up too much.
