The lack of any female directing nominees among the DGAs is infuriating. I mean seriously, what the fuck? The Rider, You Were Never Really Here, and Leave No Trace all demonstrate a hell of a lot more directorial vision than the extremely conventional Green Book.

I mean, in The Rider, director Chloe Zhao somehow draws these incredible performances from all these people who aren't professional actors, and creates this profoundly beautiful film about a particular type of American manhood. It's an incredible directing and filmmaking feat.
