This is exactly what I was writing about in the post above. A lot of us on the left tend toward left readings of stuff we like. Because we enjoy it, we want to believe that its cultural impact is one of supporting the values that we support, and we interpret it this way, even if its cultural impact is quite the opposite, which it often is
