just had maybe my first ever legitimately concerning experience of memory loss. i might blank on important numbers sometimes for a moment, but just now, after ducking out to get a sandwich, i could not for the life of me remember the door code to get into my office. for minutes!

on the other hand, this occurred while a piece i've been mulling over for a little while really started coming together in my head (which felt great) so maybe this is just my brain operating in one mode and losing access to another for a bit. i don't know.

Also also, this is my fourth day in a row without caffeine and maybe my brain's just struggling with the adjustment, or holding this information for ransom. "No coffee, no codes! Capeesh?"

I think sometimes things like that become wrought, enter into a muscle memory territory, where we don't even recall them, and then when we try the place we keep them has moved.
