Nothing I can think of. I just know FF6 was always pitted against Chrono Trigger as greatest SNES RPG (admittedly a close call).

Good question! Some games remind me of it for different reasons (the train homage in Penny Arcade 4, the theatricality of Iconoclasts, the song in Kentucky Route Zero Act III). But it's a hard game to clone, for lack of a better term, and why would we want that anyway?

Absolutely. And you’re right on the money with Iconoclasts IMO, the theatricality of it was reminiscent of FF6.

Hmm, honestly I'm not sure. So few have ever gone the 'Bad guy wins' approach with multiple character story arcs.

Great game, even they brought it to Xbox one as backwards compatible I was hoping Itd sell like mad. I want more.

I am currently reading a book called Power Up by Chris Kohler, where he talks about the influence of Japanese games in the American market. It’s a good read! Anyways, last night I was just reading a chapter on the history of Final Fantasy, and now I want to play FFVI!

The latter quarter of FFXV, after Noctis breaks out of celestial jail. That feeling that all is lost, being held at bay solely by the grace of your friends.
