I think A Star Is Born looks great and I’m excited to see it, but as a woman who doesn’t have cute privilege, I roll my eyes when Lady Gaga (or any gorgeous woman in a movie) says that all her life, people haven’t liked the way she looks. Give me a break.
Hollywood very rarely casts women who aren't actually "conventionally attractive" to play women who aren't "conventionally attractive," because Hollywood is so obsessed with female beauty.

Okay. I guarantee you that a woman who goes through life looking like Lady Gaga is going to have some privileges because of her appearance that a woman like me won't have, and that at least sometimes she will have her attractiveness reinforced by others. That's all I'm saying.
