Oh wow they also have a minigolf course in "the largest simulated cave in the world". It's called Kavernputt, which sounds like the german word for exactly this.
THE LARGEST SIMULATED CAVE IN THE WORLD
This has been an unpaid advertisement for Laurel Caverns
Bethany and I are cave connoisseurs. We've done some caves. Small caves, large caves, one super great and dangerous closed cave in the back of an amish dude's field in central PA.
Bethany's dad was a well driller before he retired and one time an amish dude he was drilling a well for was like hey i got a secret cave so of course we drove out to see it
it was open to visitors decades ago but was closed and all of the infrastructure inside was slowly being covered in dissolved limestone. the amish guy led us through and guided us in that really difficult to understand amish accent
me: wow look at that hole. wonder how far down it goes? amish guy in heavy amish accent: if you fall in there you will die
One time a cave guide turned off her lantern and was like "if you stayed in this pitch black darkness for 30 minutes and then went outside into the sun you'd go BLIND" and none of us knew what to do with that information and one person went "wow. that's amazing."
in 8th grade i was in a cave and we were on a bridge over this still pool and the guide said it hasn't been disturbed in thousands of years and i leaned over and the sunglasses i bought for $5 on the streets of philly hours before fell off and into the water
They had to reset the YEARS SINCE LAST POOL DISTURBANCE sign after that.
Their lost and found box got a little heavier that day
