all games are political because all media and art are inherently political. they might not adress politics directly, but they all contain messages.

It's fascinating how the most popular games (many of which you and I love!) have deeply regressive political idea. I don't think the creators even lean that way "in real life," but the most basic actions in games often convey those troubling messages.

It's mainly because they don't see politics they agree with as political (Overton window on personal level). Also they are a bit media illiterate as they don't know even the basics of media analysis.

I personally learned the basics in literature classes I had in primary and secondary education, so e.g. when I first saw Gundam, I knew that the Federation of Zeon were basically space nazis instead of choose your side as some want to depoliticize the series
