    Shhh. Don’t tell I’m here. Raccoons like to hole up in tree hollows and empty burrows. In a pinch, they’ll settle for attics or sheds. This one peeks out from a cottonwood at Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Colorado /USFWS

    Muskrats are active year-round and are able to keep warm by trapping air in their dense fur. Their warm coat also helps them stay buoyant in the water, which is where the spend most of their time.
