  Considering that the USSR fell a little less than 30 years ago, it isn't surprising. A whole generation grew up not knowing or learning about the horrors of that regime. And their education was devoid of this chapter of history. So, communism became 'chic' to them.

  It's about time we rethink our K-12 educational system. Public schools are mostly a failure, a very expensive failure. We need to introduce competition and business minded management.
