Amen. In my case it was two sandwich shops at age 22.
If we really want people to better understand financial and economic concepts, we should require everyone to own a small business for at least a year before they turn 25! ;)

Tongue in cheek I realize, but the fact that our schools don’t give kids ANY real understanding of business is a failure on a massive scale. America runs on business, American kids should graduate understanding the basics.

Actually that is not entirely true. My daughter in high school had a full semester discussing economics , budgeting, stock market, et al. But, yes agree in principle.

I did at 23, but it took years before I actually understood them. The first three years I was open I nearly went bankrupt. You learn though, you work and get through it hopefully. I was very fortunate that the mistakes I made while learning weren't fatal.
