    1/ Public Health Emerg of Intl Concern means states/govts around the world need to coordinate, pool capacity. NOT that its an emergency everywhere & certainly not that most people are at risk. Not all public health officials seem to be distinguishing.

    Feb. 1 marked the beginning of the 19th month of the North Kivu-Ituri outbreak. What an ordeal for the people living through this. There was 1 new case yesterday, at Beni, which this virus doesn't want to let go of. No deaths. Totals: 3428 cases, 2250 deaths.

    1. 's daily update reports nearly 10,000 cases. That will be out of date in a couple of hours when China posts its Jan. 31 numbers. The daily jump has been rising; it was almost 2000 cases yesterday. I'd expect more today.
