It's been a while since I last talked about libbitcoinkernel, but I'm happy to see that is now sponsored! His past work speak for themselves and I'm excited to see the libbitcoinkernel project steadily pick up the pace again 😊

New grantee. @the_charlatan_ is taking on development of libbitcoinkernel (twitter.com/carl_dong/stat), a project that extracts Bitcoin Core’s consensus engine. Now, when someone runs Core, it appears packaged as one application, even though it’s more like a group of subsystems.

I've been quietly working on libbitcoinkernel – an effort to extract out Bitcoin Core's consensus engine. @laanwj talked about it here: laanwj.github.io/2021/01/21/dec @jamesob here: jameso.be/2021/03/24/bac Now you get to hear it from yours truly in 1080p 60fps! youtube.com/watch?v=MdxIkH

Been thinking about a next-gen VPN 🧙‍♂️ Would love to know if others share my problems with existing VPNs! 1. Do you use one? If not, why not? 2. Do you have it on 24/7 or task specific, if latter, what task? (DM if sensitive) 3. Any frustrations/problems w/ your existing VPN?

Is there a good programmatic Lightning cross-implementation testing framework? Not prototocol conformance like lnprototest does, but starting and driving (calling RPC) LND, Eclair, CLN, and LDK nodes.

Does anyone know of good books and resources (aside from reading code and man pages) for learning about low-level networking internals? (for Linux or UNIX) e.g. What does iptables actually do to the packets when you do -j REDIRECT

Rust 1.65.0 is now available. 🦀 Today's release brings generic associated types (GATs), let-else statements, std::backtrace, and more. See the announcement and release notes for details: blog.rust-lang.org/2022/11/03/Rus

We've also made substantial progress on libbitcoinkernel's Phase 1, with many consensus-critical modules now decoupled from non-consensus-critical ones.🪢 twitter.com/carl_dong/stat This work will be continued by , Cory Fields, and other members of the community. 3/n
