I know lots of PhD students would love to start their own business but it is intimidating when you don't have a business background That's why in this video I share my Top 3 books that helped me with the start of Career Conversations

  2. Ok, how are these jumping symbols on a macbook not annoying? Not sure what Apple was thinking when they came up with that 😄

  3. Many presenters lose their audience within minutes of their presentation in leave opportunities on the table. In today's video (5pm CEST) I'll talk about skills I learn on Youtube to keep people's attention. Subscribe, in case you're interested to watch

Ok, fun fact about me: I am very bad with computers but somehow making the perfect excel sheet makes me super happy The one were you only change one parameter and it gives you all information you were looking for. A bit like removing the foil from a new phone

Here is a tip for everyone in If you are looking to interview people (or to be interviewed), a great platform is HARO (Help A Reporter Out). It brings together reports and people who want to spread the word about their work.

Quick tip for presentations: Rather only show 30% of your data, take the time to explain them properly and have your audience understand everything, than to show 70% of your data, rush through them and lose your audience in the first 5min.

Wow, that was an inspiring interview with JLo on self-doubt and not letting criticism define her!

Have you ever heard of the term "Whataboutism"? I feel we get this a lot on Twitter and it's become a common way to kill every fruitful conversation.

Do you know this urge to stop work for today and then you remind yourself of the tiny tasks that need to be finished and it's only today anyway that you work past your limits? This is how you burn out because it's not only today and it's not just tiny tasks.

Not much compares to the feeling of being proud of ourselves. For feeling proud of ourselves, we usually have to leave our comfort zone and do things we think we could not.

Being unprepared for a presentation is leaving opportunities on the table. You never know who will watch you and consider hiring you or collaborating with you. So, make sure that you come in prepared as hell.

This is so true! Ultimately, every tweet that I do and every video that I make has the intention to build up people's self-esteem.

I've been a scientist for years now. Here's the finest scientific discovery of my life: Add a bit of nutmeg to boiling potatoes to prevent them from boiling over. Found this out at 4 years old while cooking with my mom. You're welcome, world! 😜

Additional tip for Twitter mental health: Only engage with the things you want to see more of. If you engage with things that upset you, the algorithm will present you with more of that.

Self-care is not always fun necessarily. Buying groceries so that we eat healthy food is self-care. Cleaning the house so that it's a space we want to live in is self-care. Take good care of yourself, even if it is not always fun.

Self-care is like a muscle that you need to train daily, so that it is strong enough when you need it. What do you do today to train your self care muscle?

Ok, you wanna learn a simple thing from me? Every day, do your priorities first! I stressed myself a lot over two experiments today and now I have zero drive for the one thing I had to do today that is super important for next week HUGE mistake!

When you feel like you're procrastinating, maybe check if you have added too much to your to-do list and only do the top priorities for now.

Let's do a challenge for the weekend: Pick a task that you do a lot and figure out how to tweak it so that you can do it 5x faster and more efficiently. This freed up time can then be used for any other fun activity. Mine will be meal prep.

Question to all technology geeks: what do I do, if my phone only connects to the wifi after I switched airplane mode on and off? I have a Samsung Galaxy S10e Yes, already tried to switch the phone on and off 😉
