We're aware of scenes of large gatherings today at some licensed premises in Whitstable. We deplore this and are working with the police, and using government regulations, to determine the action we may be able to take as the licensing authority.

Seems some ‘premises’ don’t understand the ‘away’ part of take-away. Should be boycotted like all companies attempting to turn a profit when their competitors are abiding by safety advice.

The simple fact is the police have the powers to instantly revoke licenses (to sell alcohol, play music etc) and thus shut these places down. However, that would set a precedent. We police by consent in this country.

Meanwhile, my son is working nights as a doctor in intensive care. Patients are sharing ventilators (yes, it is already that bad!) and as a result of the actions of these idiots and the greedy licencees the hospital will be even busier. Just stop it! People are already dying!

If you have the authority to issue licences, surely it follows that you have the authority to revoke them?

People are losing their income by obeying the regulations .These people should lose their licence immediately
