Glad your babies are ok. Alfies been ventilated for the last 16 months. His brain and function is degenerating. Numerous medical opinions are the same nothing can be done other than keep him comfortable and with as much dignity as possible.

I don't agree. It seems to me, the issue is a difference between US and UK views on the parental rights. If the doctors wanted to continue and the parents wanted to turn the machines off, the court would still consider the child and his best interests

I would respectfully suggest you research both the neuro condition & the hospitals case presented to the court. Decide if you would like to live attached to life support unable to feel touch, hear, see or speak. It’s tragic for all concerned especially little Alfie

We need to be really careful about arguments like this. There are people who can’t see/speak/hear or some other combination of the above. From their outside, their lives wouldn’t seem worth living to a lot of able-bodies people, but they are.

It is abundant clear that the closest the British come to a religion is in our worship of the NHS. It’s priests - it’s medics - are accorded an infallibility beyond the wildest dreams of Pio Nono and the whole apparatus of the state is at its service.
