Juneteenth is not the conclusion of Black and brown bondage in this country or in Texas. In this state alone, the rate of Black incarceration is 3X the rate of white incarceration.

We still have kids that are in segregated schools, and funding is inequitable. In fact, funding is so inequitable that we are spending twice the amount of money that we spend to put kids through kindergarten on incarceration. When we do that, we're not investing in our future.

Last election cycle, I worked hard for candidates that would fight for our community, because I believe that is where we'll see true accountability, representation, and change.
