Folks keep telling me how awful it must be to campaign during a pandemic. It's a challenge, but my some of my earliest memories involve being hungry, homeless, and scared. The fact that more and more families feel that way is never far from my thoughts.
I also think a lot about the way that communities look when people are fed, housed, and their work and personhood valued. I stay sane by working toward that reality. The work is not heroic; it's just the best leverage I have against evil. I am blessed to have this work.
