I'm saying we cannot underestimate opposition leaders, who've been governors, or members of the National Assembly, and remain relatively popular. If they sense strong support from their base they may still run against Maduro.
If infact Maduro is re-elected, it's clearly due to being the most popular candidate at a time when the opposition is in total shambles and at odds with one another--not due to the exclusion of parties.
I think that means you are accepting my earlier point. Thank you for that . No-one can ever be underestimated, Maduro included, but banning several parties from standing in a supposedly democratic election is not democracy.
The opposition won 25 municipalities despite mixed calls by leaders, with some telling supporters to boycott and others campaigning for votes. They will be participating.
