Juan Guaido is not the "self-declared President." He's a dude, who at one point self-declared himself 'President,' but he's still not President, self-declared or not. He continues to be... a dude. Refer to him as guy, figure, right-wing politician, etc. but not as President.

I would publish a whole list of things that liberals and CIA socialists get wrong in their use of terms & language on Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua and beyond but I'll keep it to us since it's how we know you're a completely unaccountable outsider when it comes to Our America.

Anyone from the North can report on Latin America if they so choose to for career gain but we can also trace your reporting back to you being a complete fraud, identifying the tendencies from a mile away. It's easy to recognize parachute journalism and fake, fleeting, solidarity.

Call him autoproclamado en español or self-declared/self-proclaimed cuz he sure did declare himself something but it wasn't President, because unlike @JeanineAnez who through a violent coup became Head of Govt after swearing herself in, Guaido has never controlled anything.

Self-proclaimed President suggests he came to power having named himself President. That actually never happened in Venezuela. The President continues to be @NicolasMaduro and he presides over the military and is responsible for Venezuela's institutions.

This tyrant actually self-proclaimed and swore herself in as President in a violent coup. Her presidency and govt is seen as illegitimate but they successfully took power over many of the country's institutions. At no point did this happen in Venezuela.https://twitter.com/camilateleSUR/status/1194394098486173699 …

Bolivian opposition senator Jeanine Añez has self-proclaimed herself President of Bolivia as the institutional aspects of the coup progress. The move is unconstitutional with the majority of Assembly members absent. https://twitter.com/pvillegas_tlSUR/status/1194388737658109952 …
