    About bloody time! (But then, perhaps Germany — and everyone else in the OECD — should not introduce blanket fuel tax cuts and other energy subsidies, but only targeted support helping those in need)

    According to GasBuddy data, Friday US gasoline demand rose 4.1% from the prior Friday and was 8.1% above the average of the last four Fridays. It was the third highest single day consumption in GasBuddy history going back to 2017.

    BP, Shell and Exxon have all said they're getting out of Russia. But Schlumberger, Halliburton and Baker Hughes are staying put for now. The oilfield services firms arguably more important to keeping Russian oil and gas flowing than the supermajors
