Wait wait wait wait wait wait you’re telling me to make the VP safe there aren’t any weapons around but when it comes to children they want guns everywhere? Can someone explain this to me? Because it sounds like the NRA wants to protect people who help them sell guns, not kids.

The official convention page asks its attendees to hold no weapons while in the presence of the VP. So not only guns, but any weapons are prohibited.

I assume the Vice President / Secret Service require this. I doubt the NRA has a say, if they want him to speak.

If everyone being able to carry a weapon is such an important and non-negotiable principal, if they're really true to their principals why would they agree to such restrictions?
