    Little Egret is our most common egret in winter, peaking at an estimated 11,000 birds in September with young and continental birds joining the breeding pairs.

    Goosing with just west of Burnham Market. Ash refound the Lesser- White-fronted Goose, then I picked out 3 Red-breasted Geese !! Sadly, one of them had a blue ring on the left leg. Before we got a closer view of the ring they were flushed by Kite

    2/2 The LBB Gulls on the other hand have seen an increase in numbers at Hayle. The highest tally for this Low Tide survey for me is 420 on 05/02/2011, highest altogether is 550 in 1999. 420 was also my highest total so it came as a nice surprise today to record 1324

    A great morning at the Hayle Estuary. Highlights: a sleepy ring-billed gull, adult caspian gull, 7+ yellow-legged gulls, 4 goosander, 2 red-breasted merganser, greenshank and 11 grey plover
