Great that @camanpour starts by pointing out the colonial and Victorian roots of homophobia on the continent, which the clueless @UKenyatta then goes on to defend. I wrote about this a while back.https://twitter.com/gathara/status/595089577343344640?s=19 …

There is also no legal or constitutional prohibition against homosexuality as both
@camanpour and@UKenyatta falsely state. It's not illegal to be gay in Kenya though some gay sexual acts are criminalized by colonial era laws whose constitutionality is currently under challenge. -
Keep it in your bedroom we don't care but dont try to make it a national issue. When God created Adam he created Eve ( Hawa) NOT a Steve .
-
That's BS. Being gay is not a crime in Kenya (despite what the likes of
@EzekielMutua and@UKenyatta might think). What is criminalized is precisely the sort of private consensual sexual interaction between two gay adults that you say you don't care about! -
Then don't make it a national issue.
-
Those criminalizing private, consensual sexual behavior are the ones making it a national issue, dumbass.
-
No one has criminalized anything but they should stop forcing us to stop everything we do to crown them . Separate the issues here. As you said, it's private , then keep it private period. Nothing More Nothing Less.
-
You seem to be confused about what the issues are. Being gay is not illegal so why should gay folks hide? To comfort bigots? Some gay sexual acts are criminalized but you seem ignorant of that. Read the penal code.

Obviously, @PresidentKE was right. The Anglican Church has sworn Gay priests, ask yourself why the African Anglicans declined to follow suit - Culture. Second and most important what is Important to Kenyans? Better Healthcare, Jobs, Food Security - Not the Non-Issue of Gayism
-
It's not like your government is doing anything about these other issues you refer to as "important to Kenyans"
