“I didn’t become a feminist because I read about second-wave feminism,” says the author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. “I became a feminist because I grew up in Nigeria, and observed the world. And just saw what felt to me like an injustice that made no sense.”https://snpy.tv/2qKG1JY

How has this woman refused to remove that bit of Nigerian accent despite staying abroad for so long?? I Stan!

That's what I love best about her. She's owned her Nigerian accent and understands that effective communication is about elocution. Read Americanah.

👏 👏 👏 👏 go Chimamanda!! I'm not a feminist in the sense that people describe feminism today i.e. contending with men, but I applaud the serious work that women of the past have done to get us to this point, in terms of us being able to fend for ourselves.

        Replying to @johnyny10 @ciruukiniti and

Lies. Feminism is about equality. Men see it as "contending" because women are challenging the status quo and the men dont like it. They want things to remain the same.
