.@SenDuckworth, an Iraq War vet, will be the 1st sitting US Sen to give birth. Current rules stop her bringing her child onto the floor. “This is ridiculous that we’re in 2018 and we’re still dealing with this in the USA. We’re better than that.” #IWD2018http://snpy.tv/2FsIRsb

I'm from New Zealand. Our Prime Minister @jacindaardern is pregnant and she will proudly breast feed her child on the floor😃 Australian politicians do too. America leading the world?

Agree with you and proud that for Aus & NZ women breastfeeding in Parliament is no big deal anymore. Come on in, American women...the water’s fine!

i’m confused. is she not aloud to vote at all or only when she has her kid with her? if it’s only when she has her kid then i don’t see a problem. why would you want to bring your kid when your working, especially with something that is very dialogue driven? why bring a kid?

what job allows people to bring their child to work? very few. i don’t see how this is a problem. other citizens need to leave their kid at home for obvious reasons so why can’t she just hire a nanny or put the kid in a daycare like other mothers do? or did i misunderstand?

i don’t see a problem with breast feeding in public, it’s natural and a motherly thing, but having a kid while working is a completely different thing. don’t bring a child to work

Seriously? The first sitting senator in America to give birth happened in 2018? And you're debating whether or not she can breastfeed her baby on the floor of the senate? In 2018?!Wow! America is really backward.

While we are on the subject, remember when trump kicked the woman out of his campaign speech ‘cos her Baby was crying? Would loved to have seen her quieten the Baby with the usual method- stuffing its gob with a nice succulent Mam ;-) Reckon djt would have lost the plot -
