I hate to say this, but if I were from Central America I would put my kids on the next bus north. These facilities need to be built in the countries of origin "asylum seeker" can apply from there. Or even better use the money to develop their countries so they wont need asylum.

Costa Rica had offices for requesting asylum. Trump shut them down. The US was giving aid to help these countries improve conditions. Trump cut them off. He doesn't want things to get better. This keeps his base attached. He thinks it will get him re-elected.

I respect Rep. Escobar, indeed death of Father & little daughter is heartbreaking but problem is 2 pronged; 1. Corrupt Latin Govt. with “barbed wire fortress homes” 2. Traffickers using unrelated children & adults to get drugs in. This still doesn’t “Ok” 2 lives lost.
