Does Ahmed al-Assiri, until this weekend Deputy Intelligence Chief, look like a rogue operator? He didn’t to me when the Saudis offered him as a key Kingdom spokesman in an interview at their London Embassy in 2016. Now he’s been relieved of his duties.https://www.cnn.com/videos/world/2016/11/03/intv-amanpour-ahmed-asiri-saudi-arabia-yemen-isis.cnn …

To rise that high in a crazy house like #SaudiArabia takes religious adherence to the whims one's master. So there is no way al-Assiri went rogue. He acted on orders he got from higher on up. #Khashoggi

As a leading journalist you need to call out these lies and not allow #Saudi the space to keep making excuses. How the world responds will set the tone on how other rouge regimes react in the future. It’s important the world sends a unified message. No hope in the U.S with Trump

Trump should demand the removal MbS immediately from power. I have no doubt there are many capable members of the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia who can be the next Crown Prince.

I fail to see why we have to pretend any mideast government is better than another, the best you can hope for is a balance of powers and keeping nukes & chemical weapons out of it. Backing Saud or Israel over Iran or Syria is just absurd
