Noted and won’t be forgotten. #SpeakerPelosi

To be fair, let’s see how they vote on legislation. A lot of them campaigned on not voting for Pelosi. But if they are competent otherwise I have no problem with them standing by their campaign promise.
-
Don’t you think she knew they were no votes? She had enough votes. Go ahead and let them vote no and give them cover with the voters at home. It’s all forgotten by next week.
-
You are probably right.
-
Pelosi doesn't care, and probably encouraged them to vote for others once she had the votes. At the end of the day, Pelosi wants Abigail Spanberger in the House, and not Dave Brat - if that means a throwaway vote, then so be it, and she knows that.

ALERT: Leader Pelosi & the DCCC advised 60 Dem challengers in R-leaning seats to be ‘No on Nancy.’ ‘Just win baby,’ Pelosi said, and 18 did — making her Speaker. Leader Pelosi: “I think if they had to do that to win the election, I'm all for winning.”https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/08/politics/nancy-pelosi-democratic-opponents-speaker-win-baby/index.html …

You know what? The nomination passed and
@NancyPelosi is Speaker. Whatever issues she may have to work out with a few individual members, she’ll handle privately. We’re@TheDemocrats, not the@GOP cult where we have to walk in lockstep. -
Brava. From what I hear from
@DrDenaGrayson, our Nancy knows how to work with those who disagree with her. - 1 more reply

Can we refer to each one as a "One Term Dem" from here out?
-
I hear you, but at least for McAdams he won by the skin of his teeth in a heavily gerrymandered district in blood red Utah. Dude was never going to be a progressive leader. I'm just expecting him to be a bulwark against the worst of the Republican agenda.
-
If we are truly the big tent party, we have to accept that that means a diverse coalition of folks, including some who vote with us only 75% of the time. Because in swing districts, the alternative is the GOP candidate who votes with us 0% of the time.
-
Was arguing this about Manchin yesterday. A more liberal Dem is not winning in WV. Look at the Senators from nearby KY and TN if you want to see the alternatives to Manchin. Big tent and no purity tests.

They strike me as people who aren't good team players or who aren't strong enough on the priorities of the Democrats, but maybe I'm just wrong. It will be interesting to see.
-
Some of them, like Conor Lamb, come from districts where Pelosi’s unfavorable were so high they had little choice.
-
They literally all did. All but two are from Trump districts.
-
The majority are just keeping campaign promises. I think the speaker understands that.

I’m not sure why this matters. So they didn’t support her as Speaker. She won. They voted based on how they campaigned. Blind partisan voting is how we got into this mess in the first place (Trump)
-
Precisely. Here in NY22 Brindisi stated that he wouldn't support Pelosi - in response to accusations that he would by his opponent,
#OneTermTenney.
