Jokes apart, it’s 2018 and us, LGBT+ people we don’t even represent 1% of characters in film industry. And we are still criticized by straight people for being too present 😐

LGBT+people are still growing on the film industry, but things get mixed and confused, i don't have any problem with LGBT+ people, but sometimes I've been treated differently because I'm straight, i know many people suffered the opposite way but the victim cant turn into murderer

Not sure any general study like this is relevant: Albus Dumbledore is gay but it does not reflect in the movies because they is no point talking about adult sexuality in Harry Potter. And this is the same in a lot of movies, where we can't know because it does not matter.

If there's no room for talking about adult sexuality in HP why did they (books/film) devote time to Snape being thirsty for Harry's mom still? Or Voldemort's mom's thirsty dreams about Tom Riddle Sr? Or Hagrid's romantic fumblings? Or Lupin and Tonks? And so on

Fair enough for Merope Gaunt, but that's more likely a teenage fantasy. (that went too far) I highly disagree with the word "thirst" for Snape, because there is a better one to describe what he was feeling: love. Which be separated from sexuality in such a strong case.

Also, Tonks was in a relationship with a werewolf. Doesn't that make her a pansexual? Lastly, as most of characters described here are only shown interested in one other person only, how can we tell which of them are not actually bisexual?

Just a quick correction; Werewolf isn’t a separate gender. Lupin is still very much male even when a werewolf. So I don’t think calling Tonks pansexual because of it is accurate.

Maybe it is a situation that is too theorical to be accurate indeed... But truth is that we can't tell what is attractive or not for Tonks in Lupin, including his "beastiality".

That’s true but I would argue that an attraction to the werewolf part still doesn’t mean she’s canonically LGBTQ+ as bestiality isn’t part of that community typically.

One good question would be: as Tonks can take whatever shape she wants, does she really have a gender?

I have mixed feelings about this, on the one hand I want to see representation, but on the other it annoys me when characters are LGBT and that's their entire character. I'm gay but I don't go announcing it to anyone who'll listen, in a movie that's the only real give away

According to Tessa Thompson her character in Thor Ragnarok was bisexual, but you wouldn't know it if she hadn't said so in an interview, she doesn't mention that fact during the film...but then why would it come up? I guess that's realistic, but do you count it as representation?

I would assume no, because nothing says this character is bi IN the movie, while Thor himself, has a whole romance to make his sexual orientation explicit, bit that also doesn't define him. They know to do they simply don't bother.

I'd have to rewatch, but I don't actually remember Thor hooking up with anyone in the movie either. I know they were angling towards it but I don't recall him actually getting together with anyone by the end. Feel free to correct me though.

I will, Jane Foster, from the two solo movies, not only is shown a romance, but when she is abscent it is implied that they have a relantionship or feelings for each other, actually, that is kind of the plot from the fisrt movie tbh.

Yeah, they said they weren't going to put her in the movie because it was not on the Earth. To be honest, the problem is not Jane Foster, but the whole plot of those movies, it was just...sad.
