Make a generic "Use" system early and just keep recycling it. Is there any difference between doing a cast and store it as a reference vs casting every time needed?
Yes, casting has a cost so don't do this all the time if you know you will re-use this reference

Yeah, keeping a reference and getting stuff from that is called a "silent cast" because it does one, just not with a visible node. It's best to know what info you'll need frequently and then make a BPI function for that
