it doesn't look energy conserving though, which brdfs are you using? And have you tried wrap diffuse? That helps a lot with cloth.

In this video, I'm just using lambert, but I've switched to Oren-Nayer since then. I was thinking of trying out wrap, I might give that a shot too :)
