You can call other scripts from MAXScript if that helps! But yes the language is very lacking :/

I had been using fileIn but kept having scope issues when defining the main script as a macro. What method do you normally use to call other scripts? It really is!!

I just use http://macros.run  to call other scripts. It's a pain though because you need that script to first exist to Max first which can sometimes cause issues :/

Tried that as part of my mzp drop script but had the same scope issues. :( I might just not be used to it but getting the impression that splitting into modules and writing to files during execution is not how maxscript is meant to be used!

Ah shoot, I haven't tried zip maxscripts yet. I usually just define a .ms script and roll with it that way. I'm sure there is a way to package multiple modules/scripts together though, it's just the community around maxscript is so small!

I like it as an installation method, just one file for the artists to get and then all the dependent ms files live behind the scenes...yet to see how it behaves in a studio env tho so wait for that complaint! All the forum posts I've found are from like 2009

Im surprised there's not more community/support considering most AAA studios ask for it as a requirement for TAs. People moving to python mabs?
