    From deputy Juan Fregoso when I asked for a schedule if sweeps so we could assist neighbors in preparing them. I later received copies of old sweeps from a CPRA request from his email.

    In the end, the aggressive sweep team threw 8-10 tents and other belongings in the garbage. Many were brand new, all were ADA compliant. There was no trash because they had just swept two days earlier. It was pure terror and social cleansing.

    there were 2 major sweeps at Alvarado/101 within 3 days of each other back in August (just before EP Rising) One of our organizers pleaded w Juan Fregoso to call the 2nd one off. He just shrugged and said “if a notice was posted, people should be prepared” (1/2)

    Every. Single. Time. Told this story before but the most galling was when I called to report that a resident had his heart meds trashed in a sweep & Juan Fregoso’s response was to say, “We don’t do sweeps. We do service days.” More concerned w/ semantics than the life @ stake.

    Don’t hate the masses. They have jobs, they have lives, they are overwhelmed by false messaging. In a Republic, elected representatives are supposed to protect ill informed voters from themselves. Blame those representatives. Convince the masses to replace them.

    And I feel here is where we get looked at as over-complicating things because we want some more time to do proper research. I struggle with having to ‘sell’ the idea of validating/researching what we’re designing before building it because it just seems so obvious and logical.
