The use to charcoal is very common in
#Ethiopia so I don't see these numbers coming down anytime soon. Especially after gas prices have increased in the past few months. Sad but True. -
Meaning local people can't use their outdated gasoline powered stoves. They have to depend on Charcoal even more... I'm talking about the majority of the cases. Yes we do have electric stoves and yes it is also common but not as much.

The use of charcoal briquettes from agro-forestry waste is an alternative. It won't stop deforestation, but it will aid in slowing it down drastically, especially if it can be successfully scaled up.
