I was writing with Africa in mind. You're objecting with MIT and Stanford in mind. Hard to discuss @dailynation
your article had many points. My concern is on ensuring student learning remains (or becomes) the priority
Nice to chat. I appreciate your interest in my article @dailynation
those were my examples because you're also a Harvard professor, assuming that's part of your ref frame as well
Assumptions don't help here. I have never gave Harvard as a reference point in all my writings on the topic @dailynation
smh... "You're not African so you wouldn't get it"... My concerns are valid. Teaching is teaching.
Again not my point at all. I know those universities and don't think they apply @dailynation
with all due respect, such a classic response... "You're not African, so you wouldn't get it..."
Not my point. You provided MIT and Stanford as reference for your objection @dailynation
http://www.igniteducation.org as a model to consider. I have no affiliation. Grows teachers who are focused on teaching
for any school...
not student learning. If students had produced that innovation that might be more exciting bc goal is S learning
your examples of the universities in south Africa and Kenya claimed their quality bc of research, innovation
adding additional elements to a professor's role should tie directly back to student learning
professors need a foot outside of the classroom but prioritizing student learning in any model is key
an alternative is to have research institutes run PD for professors, include them in projects but still own research
