@calestous @GroIntel my real concern is that synthetic fertilizers over long lengths of time do more damage than good
@oraelosikenny01 If you what works please share it because farmers have to make timely decisions @GroIntel
@calestous @GroIntel also our phosphorus and potassium reserves may be depleting, so synthetic fertilizers will be harder to make in future
@oraelosikenny01 Do some research and share what you find @GroIntel
@calestous I will sir @GroIntel
@calestous @GroIntel and going back to ancient african farming practices to know how we preserved the soil and got high yields
@oraelosikenny01 Ancient ways are only a partial guide in the modern world. We have to tax our brains to adjust @GroIntel
@calestous but we can learn from them. The key is organic systems, preventing synthetics as much as possible @GroIntel
@calestous @GroIntel there's nothing really new to say, just the usual, like using bio-waste as organic fertilizer
@calestous @GroIntel better irrigation systems
@calestous @GroIntel not placing as much emphasis on monoculture because its very destructive to the soil
@calestous @GroIntel not so much reliance on GMO seeds that by nature require lots of added nutrients to produce their high yield
@calestous @GroIntel more efficient planting systems that mean a more efficient use of soil nutrients by plants
