I'm working on a new project for Android reversers called Smali Debugger. It's like gdb but for Smali. It uses smalivm (https://github.com/CalebFenton/simplify …) for execution.

That's the idea. I normally just use intellij to run smalivm with a bunch of break points, but this cli is surprisingly fun to use. The end goal is to build a vscode debugger so you get a full UI.

Have you seen https://github.com/swdunlop/AndBug ? It got presented at recon a while ago. It does have some limitations though

Cool project, thanks for sharing. AndBug takes a different approach. Using smalivm instead of a dalvikvm has some very different pros / cons. E.g. It can run methods without knowing arguments, but there may be bugs.
