This is a really really common complaint from lefty commentators @jack @TwitterSupport. Why are so many of them getting notifications flooding in for new followers, but their follower account stays the same? Some years ago, I had an account that only went up or down by half a dozen followers/day no matter what I did. It was as if every gain had to be balanced by equal loss. I am not skilled at getting followers but I thought the number would at least slowly creep up. I found this odd
